Thankoffering Grace Women of ELCA is an active participant in the annual Thankoffering in-gathering of national Women of ELCA, traditionally during October here at Grace. 2010 collection is complete and will be sent off to the national organization in support of scholarships, events, resources, publications. These monies are a large part of WELCA’s total revenue and are everyone’s way of saying a special “thank you” to God! Prepare now by setting aside for 2011 Thankoffering Sunday. Read Luke 15:30-31.

Café (Community Advocacy Faith Enlightenment) is Women of ELCA’s award-winning e-zine, on-line designed to engage women 18-30 with fresh perspectives on faith and life. Check out www.boldcafe.org to see the latest issue and listen to the podcast. There you can share your comments with women of all ages. How about a Café Circle at Grace? Gather on-line, share thoughts, stay connected. Think about and pray about how we’d do that.

SEW Day is November 17, 10:00am, lower level. Help create a quilt that will be sent somewhere on earth to someone in need. It may become a warm cover, a room divider, a satchel. LWR specifies 60x80 finished; unfinished 64x84 if you could make a top ahead for SEW Day. Your help/time is greatly needed, once a month for this important work. Bring a friend and your lunch Wednesday, November 17.

Holiday gifts for Merrick Community Center will be collected throughout November until mid-December for ages 0-14 years.

Miles of Pennies Have you noticed the big jar on the library table? All coins collected to to LSS in support of Safe House, an emergency shelter for single youth ages 16-20; six beds, meal and a shower. LSS has a variety of such services in St. Paul helping get kids off the street and into a safe environment: Safe House, Rezek House, Transitional Living Project, Street Program.

Bible Study for November “The People of God: Unity in the Midst of Diversity” session 3 entitled “Entrusted with Much,” theme verse I Corinthians 4:2. How can we be faithful stewards of all that we have? Join in the helpful discussion at one of these meetings:
